‘Bling Ring’ documentary airs Sunday

The story of the ‘Bling Ring’ gang of L.A. teenagers who stole luxury items from the homes of celebrities in a 2008-09 spree will be retold in a documentary ‘The Ringleader: The Case of the Bling Ring’ that airs and streams Sunday, Oct. 1.

The seven teens stole more than $3-million in goods — designer clothes, Louis Vuitton luggage, Rolex watches — as well as handguns from the homes of celebs including Paris Hilton, Megan Fox and Orlando Bloom when they were out of town.

The documentary follows a 2013 movie written and directed by Sofia Coppola featuring an ensemble cast that included Emma Watson, Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, Taissa Farmiga, and Claire Julien. The film was based on the 2010 Vanity Fair article ‘The Suspects Wore Louboutins’ by Nancy Jo Sales.
