Death of a legend
Football is the only sport where you put people together, it doesn’t matter if you are rich, or poor, or black, or white. It is one nation. — Pelé
Brazilian soccer hero Pelé, who led his country to three World Cup victories — the first in 1958 at age 17 — and who shares a place in the pantheon of sports with greats like Muhammad Ali, died December 29 at a Sao Paulo hospital at the age of 82. Pelé’s 1,279 goals in 1,363 games is recognised as a Guinness World Record.
