South American gang members who crossed the southern border with millions of other illegal migrants are taking over cities and small towns in America.

The thugs peddle deadly drugs, guns and prostitutes across the country, from the big cities of New York and Chicago to once-peaceful towns in Middle America.

The gang, known as Tren de Aragua* has expanded its territory to at least 16 states, an area that includes half of America’s population, the New York Post reported. Most recent takeovers include Washington DC, Virginia, Montana and Wyoming.

In Colorado, gang leaders told members to gun down cops who got in their way, as they did in New York City when two police officers tried to make an arrest.

The criminal organization already has footholds in New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, Illinois, Georgia, Louisiana, Nevada, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and Colorado, the Post reported.

In Tennessee, the gang has been operating human trafficking rings in Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga, said Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Bureau Director David Rausch.

“They go from human trafficking to organized retail crime theft, and then move into the drug trade, taking on the cartels in very violent, bloody battles.”
