BATTLE OF THE BRAIN
I write this blog to keep my remaining brain cells active, a sort of daily regimen of brain cell pushups. They are rewarded for their endeavor every evening at cocktail hour, which of course kills off another 100,000 or so.
I read that we are born with 100 billion brain cells or neurons in a network of trillions of synapses — the juncture where a signal passes from one nerve cell to another. It’s all quite marvellous, kind of like our own personal universe. There would seem to be a lot of brain cells to work with, but… Damnit, I’ve lost my train of thought — a synapse malfunction, no doubt.
No worries, I’m well aware that, in the scheme of things, what I write in this blog doesn’t amount to a hill of beans.
