Gunned down in Georgia

Stone-Cold Racism in America

HERE WE GO AGAIN

Two white men WENT FREE after gunning down unarmed black man

Nothing has changed in the good ole USA since the lynch mobs of the early and mid-1900s that killed more than 3,400 black people.

Two white men, a father and son, were never charged after shooting an unarmed black man in cold blood on a Georgia street in February.

The 25-year-old black man, Ahmaud Arbery, was shot dead in Brunswick, Georgia, but the case has resurfaced after 911 calls were revealed this week.

”There’s a black male running down the street,” one of the shooters, former cop Gregory McMichael is heard saying.

Arbery was jogging when he was chased by the two white men, McMichael, 64, and his son Travis, 34, in a pickup truck. They said at the time they thought he was a burglary suspect.

Neither of the shooters was arrested after the cold-blooded killing.

The prosecutor, George Barnhill, refused to press charges, saying the two white men were within their rights to make a citizens arrest and carry guns.

Now, a different prosecutor wants to convene a grand jury to determine if the two men should be charged, but the courts are backed-up due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The two white men were within their rights to make a citizens arrest and carry guns, the prosecutor said.

But were they within their rights to gun down an unarmed man?

  1. Man! It’s hard to understand why the US is still hung-up on treating blacks as non-human disposable target practice. Yes racism still exists in this world but most of the rest of Modern society has long ago dealt with this ugly view. I understand the reasons may be complicated and perhaps historically unique to your nation but I see very little progress if at all? How can this happen in a 21st century modern society?

    1. As you say, racism is part of the historical DNA of America and I doubt that will ever change. These two guys in Georgia, however, do not represent all Americans, just an ugly ignorant part of the population.

    1. Daniel, you will be pleased to know that the two shooters were finally arrested late Thursday — I added a bulletin to the post. And, no, these racist morons are not representative of most Americans. Bill.
