Tom Cruise, fearless stuntman

Death defying stunt for next Mission Impossible movie — Dead Reckoning

“This is the most dangerous thing we’ve ever attempted,” said Tom Cruise, “a motorcycle jump off a cliff into a base jump.”

The 60-year-old actor does his own stunts and planned the scene and coordinated the shoot, said Writer-director Christopher McQuarrie.

Tom Cruise went through a year of advanced sky-dive training, said stunt team boss Wade Eastwood, and practiced the cliff-jump scene six times in one day.

Base jumping coach Miles Daisher described Cruise as an “amazing individual.”

The movie Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One will be released next July.

McQuarrie said the only stunt that scares him more than Tom’s cliff jump is “what we have planned for Mission 8.”
