And Robert Gates, Obama’s defense secretary, said this: Biden “has been wrong on nearly every major foreign-policy and national-security issue over the past four decades.” 

Those two damning statements were brought to mind by journalist Michael Goodwin in his weekend column.

He also noted the now-famous picture of Biden with head bowed and grasping his hands in desperation at a rare press conference last Thursday on the bombing deaths of 13 U.S. serviceman and women.

This picture, which was seen on television and in newspapers around the world showed a weak, almost defeated president. It is the picture of a frail man who is mentally unfit to lead.
