New York subway slashings

A trio of crazed knifemen were running wild in New York City after slashing three innocent people in a span of 12 minutes on a city subway train.

The random attacks began at 4:25 a.m. Friday when the knife wielding madman, backed by two accomplices, slashed a 44-year-old straphanger across the face on the southbound 4 train.

With blood streaming from his face, the victim staggered off the train at Union Square, and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital.

The knifeman and his accomplices stayed on the train and randomly picked a second victim, a 40-year-old man who was slashed in the face at 4:34 a.m.

The bloody rampage wasn’t over, and at 4:37 a.m., the maniac slashed another man in the head.

That victim got off at the Brooklyn Bridge station and was taken to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital.

UPDATE: CREEPS ARRESTED

Joseph Foster, 18, (left) and Taquarious Soto-Burgos (center) have been arrested for their part in the reign of terror underground, including a slashing on a D train that left a sleeping straphanger blind in one eye.

A 12-inch serrated kitchen knife used in the crimes has been recovered.

The attacks on innocent straphangers are the latest in a terrifying escalation of subway slashings.

Knife attacks, shootings and muggings have been soaring in New York City since liberal Mayor De Blasio cut police funding by a billion dollars.

“We just don’t have the manpower anymore,” said a NYPD spokesman. “The thugs know that and they’re going to take advantage of it. We’re looking at a runaway train here.”
