‘Heinous’ murder of elderly couple

Brutal end to ‘Golden Years’ for retired Florida couple

Vagrant female charged with ‘heinous’ murder of husband and wife in their 80s

‘There are no words to describe what has happened and its impact to our family,’ family members said in a statement.

The Golden Years of a Florida couple ended savagely when they were murdered in their home by a lowlife from Georgia.

This is one killer who deserves to die in the electric chair in Florida’s execution chamber.

Darryl Getman, 83, and his 80-year-old wife, Shannon, were killed in their home in the Watertown Village retirement community in Mount Dora, Florida, 30 miles north of Orlando, where they had lived for the past 20 years.

Police have not released how the couple died.

“There are things we just don’t want folks to know,” said interim Police Chief Mike Gibson, calling the crime “heinous.”

Vickie Williams, 50, has been charged with the New Year’s Eve murder. She will be arraigned in court January 30.

After killing the couple in cold blood, she stole the Getman’s car, a green Kia Soul. The car was seen leaving the retirement community at 2 a.m.

Two hours later, suspicious neighbors called police and the Getmans were found dead inside their apartment.

Williams was arrested after police tracked her driving the stolen Kia in Savannah, Georgia, 280 miles away.

The Getmans are survived by their grown son and daughter and their grandchildren.

The maximum penalty for capital murder in the state of Florida is execution by lethal injection or the electric chair. This monster deserves the chair.
