— and less than 10 minutes after liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, the rocket returned to Earth, touching down on the droneship Just Read the Instructions in the Atlantic Ocean off the Florida coast.
The Falcon rocket shot another 53 Starlink satellites into space to join the 2,500 already orbiting the Earth. Each satellite is the size of a long table top and weighs 570 pounds (260 kilograms).
ELON AIMS FOR GLOBAL COVERAGE
SpaceX began launching Starlink satellites in 2019 in low Earth orbit to communicate with designated ground transceivers and link with the Internet.
Elon Musk’s Starlink company currently provides internet access to 50 countries, but the visionary futurist is shooting for internet communication for every country on Earth.
