Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin has been taken off a breathing machine and is showing ‘remarkable improvement.’ He asked doctors who won the game.
The Buffalo Bills safety collapsed after taking a hard hit during Monday Night Football and was still unresponsive after nine minutes of emergency CPR on the field.
Hamlin, 24, was cut out of his uniform and rushed to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
In an update on his condition, doctors believe he suffered from a condition called commotio cordis, in which a severe blow to the chest causes the heart to stop. Hamlin has been ‘intubated’ — in layman’s terms, he is on a breathing machine.
He had a pulse but was on a breathing machine. Family, friends and the entire NFL community are praying for his survival.
The game against the Cincinnati Bengals which was in the first quarter when Hamlin collapsedwas suspended.

When Damar Hamlin was drafted into the NFL in 2021 he set up a toy drive for the kids in his hometown of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania The toys are distributed at a day care center run by his mother, Nina.
“As I embark on my journey to the NFL,” he said at the time, “I will never forget where I come from and I am committed to using my platform to positively impact the community that raised me.”
Now, his hometown and the entire NFL community are praying for his survival.
